The Top-Flight Builds for Clients Thus Far

For a while now, I've been wanting to write about the computers I've built so far with Top Flight Computers. Starting in August of 2016, till now (November 2017), TFC has built 12 computers. Let's get to the fun part!

Build 1 - Sanic (High Quality VR Gaming)

Sanic was built for a girl I met via a Facebook group called Wolfpack Students. I had posted on the group, advertising my services, and she saw the post and decided to contact me. She told me she wanted a PC powerful enough for high-quality VR gaming, and strong enough to not need to be majorly upgraded for several years. She also wanted it to incorporate a blue/white/black theme, if possible.

Sanic is powered by an Intel i7-4790k, cooled by a Corsair H100i v2, and games with a Founders Edition GTX 1080.

Build 2 - Exodus (Entry-Level 1080p Gaming)

Exodus was built for a guy I met a long time ago at church. He contacted me shortly after the Sanic build, wanting to get into PC gaming, but didn't have a big budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p, and still have the ability to upgrade easily if need be. There was no theme specified.

Exodus was powered by an Intel i5-4590, cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, and gamed with a GTX 950 SC. Exodus was later upgraded by the client to a GTX 1060, and then a GTX 1080.

He then came into upgrading to an Intel i7-6700k, cooled by a Corsair H80i v2, uses a 2x8 GSkill Trident Z DDR4 kit, uses the current GTX 1080 Gaming, a Corsair HX1050 80+ Platinum PSU, and a 27" 1440p monitor.

Exodus is pending a potential case refit, into a more modern case.

Build 3 - Smardin (Mid-Level 1080p Gaming)

Smardin was built for a guy I met in high school. He contacted me shortly between the Sanic and Exodus builds, wanting to get into PC gaming, and had a slightly bigger budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p, and still have the ability to upgrade easily if need be. There was no theme specified.

Smardin is powered by an Intel i5-4590, cooled by a Corsair H100i v2, and games with a GTX 1060 6GB.

Build 4 - Stormtrooper Rampage (High Level 1440p Gaming)

Stormtrooper Rampage was designed for a guy I met on Craiglist. He saw an ad that I had posted online, detailing my services, and decided to contact me about a high-powered gaming computer for his daughter. He wanted to use some high-end hardware, to provide ample futureproofing. He also wanted to incorporate a black/white/red theme, because his daughter is a big fan of Star Wars.

Stormtrooper Rampage is powered by an Intel i7-6800k, cooled by a Corsair H115, and games with a GTX 1070. Stormtrooper Rampage is built on a Rampage 5 Extreme, and uses two 2x8GB DDR4-3000 kits, along with a 950 Pro 512GB + 4TB Blue combo.

Stormtrooper Rampage is pending a potential GPU upgrade and case refit.

Build 5 - Silver Fury (High-Level 1080p Gaming)

Silver Fury was built for a guy I met in Boy Scouts. He contacted me shortly after the Stormtrooper build, wanting to get into PC gaming, and had a decent budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at high quality at 1080p, stream some of them, and still have the ability to upgrade easily if need be. There was no theme specified.

Silver Fury is powered by an Intel i5-6600k, cooled by a Corsair H60, and games with a GTX 1060 6GB SC.

Build 6 - Carbon Crystal (High Level 1080p Gaming)

Carbon Crystal was designed for a woman I met via an ad on WRAL Tech Help. She saw an ad that I had posted online, detailing my services, and decided to contact me about a high-powered gaming+game design computer for her daughter. She wanted to use some high-end hardware, to provide ample futureproofing. She also wanted to incorporate a fair amount of RGB lighting.

Carbon Crystal is powered by an Intel i7-6700k, cooled by a Corsair H100i v2, and games with a GTX 1060 6GB. Carbon Crystal is built on a Gaming Pro CARBON, and uses a 2x8GB DDR4-3000 kit, along with a 950 Pro 512GB + 1TB Barracuda combo.

Build 7 - Blue Carbon (Entry-Level Home)

Blue Carbon was designed for my maternal grandmother. My mother and I knew that her OS was going to lose official support from Microsoft in a few months, and decided that was time to refresh my grandmothers computer.

She wanted to have Top Flight Computers build it (versus going with a cheaper option from a big OEM), because she wanted to help my company along; which meant a great deal to me. She wanted to give her money to someone she trusted and cared about, rather than some large company.

Blue Carbon is powered by an Intel i3-6100, uses a 2x4GB DDR4-2400 kit, along with a CS1311 120GB SSD.

Build 8 - ThecraQ (Entry-Level 1080p Gaming)

ThecraQ was built for a guy I met on Facebook. He had contacted me around the time of the Sanic and Exodus builds. He wanted to get into PC gaming, and had a modest budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p. He did end up opting for some white SP120 LED fans, to light up the interior nicely.

ThecraQ is powered by an AMD FX-6300, cooled by a Corsair H60, and games with a GTX 1050Ti SC.

Build 9 - YemFlyer (High-Level 1080p/144hz Gaming)

YemFlyer was built for an NC State I met on Facebook. He wanted to get into PC gaming, and had a good budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at high quality at 1080p, while hitting 144fps in his "ESport" type games. This was due to him owning a 1080p monitor that was rated for 144hz.

Hitting this specific performance mark at high/max visual settings required a jump in GPU caliber, so the GTX 1070 was chosen.

I should note that YemFlyer was the first system designed by TFC that incorporated AMD Ryzen.

YemFlyer is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 1600, cooled by a Noctua NH-U12S SE, and games with a GTX 1070 SC.

Build 10 - BolognaBot (Entry-Level 1080p Gaming)

BolognaBot was built for a guy who found TFC from an organic Google Search. He wanted to get into PC gaming, and had a basic budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p.

BolognaBot is powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and a GTX 1050Ti.

Build 11 - Tomahawk Strike (Entry-Level 1080p Gaming)

Tomahawk Strike was built for a guy who found TFC from an organic Google Search. He wanted to get into PC gaming, and had a slightly bigger budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p.

Tomahawk Strike is powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 1300X and a GTX 1050Ti.

Tomahawk Strike has a potential RAM and CPU cooler upgrade in a few months.

Build 12 - Strix Eclipse (Mid-Level 1080p Gaming)

Strix Eclipse was built for a guy who found TFC from an organic Google Search. He wanted to refresh his gaming computer, and had a decent budget. He told me he wanted a PC powerful enough to run most games at medium/high quality at 1080p. He wasn't opposed to LED/RGB, but only if it wasn't much more expensive.

Strix Eclipse is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1060 6GB.

I hope to post another article about the next group of custom computers soon. Thank you for reading this article, I really appreciate it!
