Short System Description

Streamlinium Falcon is an air-cooled workstation designed for gaming, streaming, broadcasting, and general work. This PC is part of a sponsorship partnership with SESRA iRacing. This build is designed around a 6-core Ryzen 5 2600X processor and an RTX 2060 6GB video card.

Long System Description

Streamlinium Falcon was our 42nd build, several years into running the business. At this point, I’d gained a good handle on lead generation and overall marketing.

Jason and I connected on Facebook some time ago about another build (The Racers Edge).

When Jason came back, it was about the (slow) PC he was using to run the broadcasts for his iRacing league. He and I had a nice initial conversation about what could be done as far as upgrading the existing rig.

Eventually, we all realized that a brand-new rig would be a much better long-term solution, though it wasn’t really financially possible for Jason. Over the next few weeks, we worked up a mutually beneficial sponsorship package that provided his league with a new streaming workstation, and my business with dedicated multi-year digital marketing across several SESRA properties.

I have no doubt Jason will return to us when he needs a new high-end workstation.

“I have been a partner with Chris for about a year now. His support of the SESRA esport racing league has been vital every step of the way. Our small league was in need of a powerful rig to stream our races and they did more than deliver.

The capability to broadcast our shows in 1080p HD is a game changer from a business stand point and critical in securing future sponsors in our sport.

Chris Touchberry is GOOD people, and very much consider him a true friend! At this point, there is no one else I would trust with any tech situation!

Thanks for all your support for me and my league! And be sure to follow the upcoming Top Flight Computers AM Series!”

Hardware Selection Reasons

Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

I chose this processor for the high single-core and multi-core performance.

Ryzen 2000 offered a very competitive performance across the board. In addition to the attractive performance, Jason would be able to easily upgrade to a Ryzen 7 or even a Ryzen 9 as his needs changed. An Intel option may have been more powerful, but lacked a wide upgrade path, and cost more.

Jason preferred the stronger upgrade path with AMD.

CPU Cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock 4

I chose this CPU cooler for the excellent cooling performance of air. While water does cool better, air is more reliable, and this cooler also runs extremely quietly.

This cooler also looks nice in the case, making for a very sleek interior. Jason agreed with the visual design, and understood my explanation of the reliability advantage.

Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk

I chose this motherboard for socket compatibility and robust design. MSI is also one of my preferred motherboard manufacturers.

Jason agreed with the visual design, and understood my explanation of the build quality.

Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3000

I chose this memory kit for motherboard compatibility and robust design. Corsair is also one of my preferred memory manufacturers.

Jason needed 32GB of memory for his workflow, and understood my explanation of the build quality.

Storage (SSD): Crucial MX500 500GB

I chose this SSD for robust design, high capacity, fast access times, and low cost. When Streamlinium Falcon was built, SSDs were very cheap, allowing us to use a 500GB model for OS, programs, and general storage. Crucial is also one of my preferred SSD manufacturers.

Jason understood my explanation of the build quality.

Storage (HDD): Western Digital Blue 1TB

I chose this HDD for robust design, high capacity, and low cost. Western Digital is also one of my preferred HDD manufacturers.

Jason didn’t need more space for archival storage, and understood my explanation of the build quality.

Video Card (GPU): Zotac RTX 2060 6GB

I chose this GPU for long-term performance, ability to handle streaming loads, and robust design.

Jason understood my explanation of the build quality.

Power Supply (PSU): EVGA 650W GQ

I chose this PSU for wattage, robust design, and long-term stability.

Jason wanted a workstation that would last, and understood my explanation of the build quality.

Case: NZXT H500 White

I chose this case for robust design, airflow, and long-term stability.

Jason wanted a workstation that would last, and understood my explanation of the build quality.

Fans: 4x Phanteks PH-F120MP

I chose these fans for robust design, airflow, static pressure, low-noise operation, and long-term stability.

Jason wanted a workstation that would last, and understood my explanation of the build quality.
